David Bowie - Queen Bitch - live 1972 (rare footage / 2018 edit)
Well it's been so long...
Due to life getting in the way, it's been nearly a year since my last Bowie video upload , but I wanted to put together something special in time for what would have been David's 71st birthday. So here it is.
I've created this edit with love and effort from various rare clips which I've collected over the many years I've been a Bowie fan. The clips originally had no audio and so I've synched them with the 1972 performance of 'Queen Bitch' from the Santa Monica live album.
As Bowie never performed this song the same way twice (often switching lines around), the synching proved to be a challenge but I'm reasonably happy with the way it has turned out.

Recorded on 23 April 1979 in London for ITV's 'Kenny Everett VIdeo Show'. Bowie performs a newly recorded vocal of this track. Check out his white nail polish (which I never noticed before). A life where we can just be free
There is no accounting for taste, I personally liked the NASA footage in the original video. That rocket was a Saturn V that took the Apollo astronauts to the Moon, and what you called a satellite was the Skylab space station. I was fortune enough to be in Florida and witnessed the launch of Skylab 3.

I visited Hull in England last year where the spiders from mars were from. Saw a Mick Ronson memorial in one of the parks and a tribute placque at the rail station to them. They were a superb band and complimented bowie amazingly.

I was pretty young when Bowie was in this stage of his life. 12 years old. I remember thinking "who is this person that looks like Helen Reddy?" Fast forward I "Discovered" Bowie after buying "Changes one" around 1980-81. That was all it took. Lucky enough to see him live three times and have most of his library. One of a kind if there ever was one.

What a performer sad he left us so soon
Every German kid watches the Christiane F movie in school; hopefully until this day. I think the producer Bernd Eichinger wrote in his memoir, that they had to win over David Bowie for the movie- otherwise they couldnt have done it, because David Bowie played too much a pivotal role for Christiane. In the end they recorded his performance in New York I think, the huge crowds are from an acdc concert. Bowie did not want to give a huge concert at that time shortly after Lennon was shot.
